Всем привет! Конечно, всех вас приветствую любовью нашего Господа Иисуса Христа и рад еще раз с вами пообщаться в письменной форме. Многих из вас надеюсь интересует что происходит у нас молодежи или другими что у нас «новенького»!!! Совсем недавно мы с нашими братьями и сестрами вернулись с молодежного лагеря для лидеров. Впечатлений масса, оссобенного из-за того, что лидерам удалось хотя бы раз в году выехать на такого рода общение, где мы могли вместе помолиться, почитать Слово Божие, поразмышлять над ним, пообщаться друг с другом, позадавать вопросы, получить на них ответы, а также провести время на природе. В общей сложности нас было около 35 человек, вместе с нашими миссионерами, которые только совсем недавно вернулись с поездки. Планы сильно не поменялись, наоборот, можно сказать лидеры хотят больше сконцентрироваться на том, что мы имеем сегодня, т.е.: наши молодежные служения, разборы Слова Божия, группы по изучению Библии, крусейды, летние лагеря, а также Free Camps.
Происходило все так: мы приехали в пятницу около обеда, к вечеру же подъехали все остальные лидеры. В субботу с самого утра мы собравшись вместе обговаривали планы на 2010 год, а также плюсы и минусы прошлого года, новые предложения и утверждение плана на 2010 год. Потом был семинар, который проводил наш брат Иван Комарчук, и тема этого семинара была: «Если я лидер, каким я должен быть, пред Богом и людьми». Имея благословенное время, мы рассуждали над 1 и 2 Посланиями к Тимофею. Потом у нас было свободное время, и в основном, каждый использовал его так как хотел.
В воскресение мы провели утреннее служение и даже успели посмотреть Богослужение нашей Церкви в прямом эфире «круто, не думал, что будет так интересно, первый раз». Потом был прощальный обед «прощались с South Lake Tahoe», ну и где то к вечеру поехали домой.
Все остались довольны, за что огромная благодарность и слава Богу.
Что хочется сказать в заключении, мы всех приглашаем к труду среди нашей молодежи и на ниве Господней. Приглашаем всех, кто желает трудиться, в молодежный комитет, который проходит в основном каждый вторник в 7 pm.

Greetings everyone. 2009 has flown out the window, and 2010 has bestowed upon us. The Youth Committee had its first 2010 meeting on Jan, 12th, 2010. Denis started the meeting with a reading from John 17. After his discussion about the passage, we got right down to business.

Hello, CALinChrist readers and guests. I am here once again to bring you the information from the youth committee that met on November 24, 2009. We had a lot of information to be discussed, so this post will have quite some material to read.
Our meeting began with an opening prayer and a reading from the Word to set our hearts in the right place. The passage that he read was: 1 Tim. 4:8, 10-11. Denis made a major emphasis on verse 10. People will always try to reproach you, but don’t get discouraged. It is God’s way of making you into His perfect image. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. (1 Timothy 4:10). Also, do not ignore the words that were told to you. Pray so that God will help you see why that individual spoke to you.
The committee started with a question asked from one of the members of the committee. The question was pertaining to the price for the New Years. Why does everyone have to pay $40? The participants in the new year program should pay less than the guests. The discussion lead to this answer. Everyone pays the same price. The New Year’s program is from the youth, to the youth. If to consider everyone who is participating in the New Year program, then about half of the people will need a discount, or go for free. The members of the committee voted whether to keep the same price, or to give the discounts to the participants. The majority voted to keep the price same. If financial aid is needed, or for any questions, please talk to Denis.
The topics that were discussed at the meeting were summer camp, Christmas musical, caroling, leader’s retreat, the selling of the Christmas trees, and New Year Program 2010.
In closing, Denis asked for the leaders to keep looking for new youth who are willing to participate in the planning of youth events and activities. Denis also mentioned to the leaders, to notice anyone who has newly repented, to come up to them and encourage them spiritually. He also mentioned the people who have left the church for any reason whatsoever, to be loving and considerate towards them and call them back into the church. We are all one body with many members, and every member of the body is important, not matter how small they may seem.
Hello fellow CALinChrist followers. Here is the moment that you have been waiting for. The time where I post the information that was discussed on our last youth committee meeting (10/20/2009). The meeting began with Denis reading from the Bible to get our Spiritual food and to set our minds and hearts on God. The passage that he read was Ephesians 1:15-23, for those of you who are interested. Then, topics like last Sunday’s youth service, crusade, and New Year’s preparations were discussed.

Hello everyone! Many of you may know me, but what I want to tell you is my short life story and how I came to God.
I was born in a little town of Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, and grew up in a loving family, with one older brother and two older sisters. I moved to the United States in 1999 and became a member of Second Slavic Baptist Church on December 14, 2008.
Before I completely came to Christ, I repented in front of the church a few times but continued living a life that was not Christian. I was not drinking or smoking or anything else out of the extreme, but my life was not fully devoted to Christ. In fact, I constantly went to church and was even one of those “good girls.” The real truth was, I had a big fat emptiness inside me that nothing could fill. I was a sinner who needed repentance.
I finally got to the point of depression. I was constantly crying, isolating myself from others, and not willing to talk to anyone. I completely lost my appetite and all desire to enjoy life. That is when I went to my first youth camp (SSBC camp in 2006).
Throughout the camp, God was softly preparing me for repentance. On the last night, when Ion Keptone finished preaching, I came out and repented. To be honest, there were no extreme feelings or anything else that a lot of people expect to feel when they repent. It was simply an act of asking God for the forgiveness of my sins and a firm decision to follow Christ and be His faithful servant.
After that, I started to grow spiritually in Christ by going to bible studies, reading the Bible, and becoming involved in church. God miraculously changed my life by creating a happy and life-loving person out of a self-conscious, unsure teenager. God is now my main source of joy, peace, and love. He is the only one to whom I can come with any of my problems, fears, and joys, and know that He is ALWAYS there for me. He is my father who takes care of me and a best friend who saved me from eternal suffering in hell.
If you still don’t know Jesus as your personal Savior and God, There is still time to change that. He was the one who died on the cross for YOUR sins and the sins of all mankind and is waiting patiently for you to come to Him. He is the only one who can fill the emptiness inside your soul and the only one who will give true peace to your heart. All it takes is for you to ask Him to come into your heart, clean it of all the sins, and start living for Him the rest of your life. You will never regret it!

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Yana Chuprov, and I have been a member of Second Slavic Baptist Church since December 2005 (day of my baptism), but I have been going to SSBC ever since it was still with First Slavic Baptist Church. When I received my baptism, I was just another member of the church, but I was not involved in any of the activities it had to offer. I started my involvement with youth when I joined into Joseph Donchenko’s group in 2005. At first, I was just attending, but wasn’t really doing anything. Then, summer of 2006, I had an opportunity to be a leader in the summer youth camp. It was all so new to me. I was a little scared, but I was eager to try it. Once I tried it, I knew that working with youth is my passion. I have been involved with youth ever since.
I have been a member of the Youth Committee since 2006, right after the youth camp. I began to be involved in many activities, such as being a helper in groups, and assisting in whatever the committee needed help with. I have been a leader in camps every summer since 2006, and no matter how stressful it is, I love every single moment of it. About 2 years ago or so, I had an opportunity to start a group, called Young Women’s Ministry. Few ladies and I get together to work out a study guide for the girls. This group lets girls of all ages to come together once a month, and read bible, discuss topics like dating, marriage, single life, etc., in a comfortable atmosphere (AKA no guys 
we love you, but we need some time with ourselves too.) As of right now, we are discovering the book of James. It is awesome because it talks about how to deal with trials and temptation, and many other wonderful topics.
Aside from Young Women’s Ministry, I have helped out with Wednesday Groups. Although due to college, I have put that on pause. I also love dealing with teens, which is why I have joined Skala. As a member of the committee, I help out with many activities. Starting from decorating, to planning activities. My objective with CALinChrist is to post Committee Updates twice a month. Plans, trips, special events, and anything important will be included in my updates. I hope to keep you all in the loop as to what is happening with our youth.

Update: I’ve been researching how to allow commenters to upload their own avatars (little pictures by their name) and have concluded that the easiest way is to set up something called a Gravatar. A Gravatar is a globally recognized avatar…which means that you set it up an account with Gravatar and comments you leave on any modern blog, such as CALinChrist, will automatically have your picture next to them. The picture is tied to your email address. Creating an account and uploading a picture is easy, just visit the Gravatar website and click “Get your Gravatar today”
The Forum, however, allows you to upload a picture directly when you make an account. So go make an account!
